Senior Process Engineer

Position Overview:
The Process Engineer will act as both a strong individual contributor and cross functional team member in providing plant engineering support for the manufacture of high continuous manufacturing operations environment.
Responsibilities:
Promote a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibilitySupport all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent mannerResponsible for optimization and troubleshooting of all systems within scope of chemical processing, manufacturing and packaging activitiesChampion implementation of detailed plans / project proposals (Capital Expense Requests), develop targeted action plans to meet business and financial targets and maintain accountability for action plans resultsWork closely with corporate and plant functions for new line installations, improvement of existing processes and the development of process designs for expanded manufacturing capabilityMust be adaptable to both process and project management rolesIdentify and execute a variety of process improvement activities and assist production team resources by helping with production-related issues and quality improvement initiativesEffectively interact with hourly, management and corporate personnel to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the organizationLead cross-functional teams, addressing technical challenges to achieve critical objectivesFoster and maintain good employee relations through all the appropriate methods of communications and positive employee relations practicesUnderstand business needs, risks and organizational dynamics as well as their implications based on developing alternate plans and choicesMaintain compliance with all housekeeping, regulatory, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and sanitization requirementsIdentify and support cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiativesPromote active leadership in the implementation of plant-wide lean manufacturing efforts, integrating lean manufacturing disciplines, tools and techniques in engineering departmentEnsures all quality and food safety practices are followed at all timesPromote fair and consistent adherence to all local and corporate policies and procedures.

Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization Excellent communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media - verbal, written, etcExcellent organizational/time management skillsAbility to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to direct work force and adapt to changing schedules as appropriatePossess a strong analytical and technical background with chemical unit operations, particularly heat transfer, distillation fluid flow and process controlAbility to frame up, prioritize and execute process improvements according to value, cost and risk with limited supervisionDemonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of employees to plan, organize and complete multiple projects from inception to startupComfortable functioning in a variety of roles ranging from plant floor troubleshooting and problem solving to leading long term process improvement projectsDemonstrated ability to execute, manage and/or develop projects effectivelyDemonstrated ability to develop and execute against production plans to meet output requirements Solid critical thinking skills and ability to create new, innovative ways to handle situations with a strong bias towards Continuous Improvement fundamentalsUnderstanding of lean manufacturing principles including Six Sigma, 5S, TPS, etcStrong computer skills (MS Office Suite, MS Project, CMMS and SAP)Working knowledge of SAP Maintenance Module and AutoCAD a plusAbility to methodically collect and analyze data and make appropriate recommendationsEducation:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field3-5 years previous production engineering experience in fast-paced regulated manufacturing environmentFlexibility to work various hours and shifts as needed, especially during large projects, installations, etc.
